Job Summary:
The Manager, Training and Development will lead a centralized learning function that builds capability, accelerates leader and front-line performance, and sustains organizational change through high-quality instructional design, facilitation, and development program management. This role will manage a team of instructional designers and trainers, define the learning strategy and KPIs, partner with business stakeholders to prioritize learning needs, and own core leadership programs including onboarding, early career development, and ongoing leadership development. The Manager will also partner closely with the business partners to operationalize Leader Standard Work (LSW) and Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) within our overall Business Operational Excellence Roadmap.
What You Will Do:
Strategy, learning governance & alignment
  • Define and implement a learning strategy that aligns with business priorities and leadership objectives (e.g., time-to-proficiency, leader impact, retention).
  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable learning outcomes, KPIs, targets and owner cadences; incorporate into scorecards and performance reviews.
  • Establish learning governance, content prioritization, intake and lifecycle processes, and training ROI to ensure focus on highest-value interventions.
  • Build visual reporting and dashboards to make learning progress and impact transparent to stakeholders.

Instructional design & facilitation excellence
  • Lead design and delivery of blended learning solutions (classroom, virtual instructor-led, eLearning, microlearning, on-the-job learning) using adult learning principles.
  • Coach and develop the team on instructional design best practices (ADDIE/Agile, learning objectives, assessment design, storyboarding) and advanced facilitation skills and techniques.
  • Own standards, templates and quality assurance for learning assets (design reviews, pilot testing, evaluation plans).
  • Oversee optimization of learning technologies (LMS, authoring tools, virtual platforms) and manage vendor relationships.

Leadership development & programs
  • Own leader development programs including ongoing cohorts, curriculum refinement, reinforcement plans and leader onboarding content.
  • Plan and coordinate training and leadership meetings (content, logistics, speakers, measurement).
  • Lead the Business Operations Early Career Program including: curriculum design, onboarding, program objectives, mentoring and program evaluation.
  • Partner with business leaders to embed Leader Standard Work and Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) practices into leadership curricula and onboarding.

Team leadership, workload & talent management
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of trainers, instructional designers and coordinators; set clear goals, KPIs and development plans.
  • Manage team workload and resourcing; balance project intake against capacity and outsource when appropriate.
  • Recruit, onboard and retain high-performing Learning and Development talent; cultivate facilitation and design capability across the team.

Measurement, impact & continuous improvement
  • Define and track learning KPIs and a measurement framework (learning uptake, proficiency change, behavior change, business impact/ROI).
  • Apply evaluation models to validate program effectiveness and measure ROI to inform continuous improvement.
  • Lead post-program sustainment activities (reinforcement plans, coaching, leader audits) to drive behavior change and outcomes.

Stakeholder engagement & change management
  • Partner with business leaders, HR, Operations, and Process & Standards to align priorities and secure sponsorship for learning initiatives.
  • Apply change management practices to ensure adoption of new leader behaviors and daily improvement routines.
  • Communicate status, outcomes and lessons learned through executive summaries, reviews and learning dashboards.

Operational responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and any regulatory requirements in learning delivery.
  • Manage program budgets, vendor contracts and travel/venue logistics for in-person events.
  • Support cross-functional projects and value-stream learning needs as required.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Education, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in learning & development, leadership development, or organizational capability building.
  • 3+ years' experience managing and developing a team.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering blended learning and facilitation for leaders and front-line employees.
  • Strong experience with instructional design tools and LMS platforms; comfortable with virtual delivery technologies.
  • Proven ability to define and track learning KPIs and translate learning outcomes into measurable business impact.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and coaching skills; ability to influence at all levels.
  • Practical experience applying change management to learning initiatives and embedding leader standard work/Managing Daily Improvement practices.

Preferred
  • Advanced degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, HR or Business.
  • Certifications such as ATD CPTD, SHRM/CP, Prosci, or other Learning and Development credentials.
  • Experience with authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate), learning analytics tools (Power BI/Tableau) and content production (video/capture/editing tools).
  • Background in operations, distribution, logistics or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience designing early career/rotational programs and large-scale leader programs.

Working Conditions
  • Regular travel to sites and business units will be required for program delivery, leader coaching and summit coordination.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
  • The expected Base Salary Range: $81,400-$120,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
