Job description

We're hiring an Account Manager to own relationships with our members — keeping them engaged, helping them get more value over time, and turning first-time users into long-term, growing accounts.

Summary
  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast.

About The Role

This is the relationship-owner seat. Where a customer success associate is the responsive first point of contact, an account manager owns a book of accounts — you're responsible for keeping your members engaged, healthy, and growing over time.

Our members are busy professionals and business owners who work through relationships and value their time. They don't want to be "managed" — they want someone who genuinely knows their situation, checks in at the right moments, removes friction, and helps them get more out of what we offer. You'll be the person who owns that relationship end to end: retention, engagement, and expansion.

This is part relationship management, part retention, part "grow the account." The bar is warmth, reliability, and follow-through — plus the commercial instinct to spot when an account is ready for more and when one is at risk.

Compensation

Up to $90,000 max total annual compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional or hourly arrangements welcome.

What You'll Do in Your First 30 Days
  • You've taken ownership of a book of accounts and know who's in it, what they care about, and where each one stands
  • You've gone through the platform yourself and can navigate it confidently
  • You've made first contact with your accounts and started building real relationships
  • You've identified your at-risk accounts and your best expansion opportunities
  • The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Own a book of accounts — you're the relationship owner for your members, responsible for their engagement and retention
  • Drive engagement and retention — check in proactively, remove friction, and keep members getting value so they stick around
  • Grow accounts — spot when a member is ready for more and help them get there
  • Monitor account health — watch the signals, catch disengagement early, and step in before an account churns
  • Be the trusted point of contact — responsive, organized, and genuinely helpful; your members feel like someone's got their back
  • Relay feedback to the product team — you're the voice of your accounts internally
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 2-4+ years in account management, customer success, client services, or a relationship-heavy role where you owned relationships (not just tickets)
  • Genuinely enjoy building relationships and helping people get results
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can write a clear, warm message and hold a confident conversation without a script
  • Organized and responsive — you manage a book of relationships without letting anyone slip through the cracks
  • Commercial instinct — you can tell when an account is at risk and when it's ready to grow
  • Comfortable working across time zones in a remote-first environment

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Background in sales, renewals, or expansion — any role where you owned retention or growth numbers
  • Startup experience or comfort with ambiguity
What You're NOT
  • Not a support ticket jockey — this is relationship ownership, not queue clearing
  • Not a pure hunter/closer — you're growing and keeping existing relationships, not cold-prospecting new logos
  • Not a product manager — you'll relay feedback, but you're not making roadmap calls
