To thrive as a Remote Compliance HIPAA Specialist, you need in-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and risk assessment, typically supported by a degree in healthcare administration, law, or compliance and relevant certifications like CHC or CHPC. Familiarity with compliance management software, audit tools, and secure communication systems is essential. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication help ensure adherence to complex regulations and facilitate successful remote collaboration. These skills are crucial to protect sensitive patient data, minimize legal risks, and ensure regulatory compliance in a remote environment.

What is a remote compliance HIPAA professional?

A Remote Compliance HIPAA job involves ensuring that an organization complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations while working from a remote location. Professionals in this role are responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures to protect patient health information. They may also conduct risk assessments, provide staff training, and handle any breaches or compliance issues. This position is vital for healthcare organizations and any business that handles protected health information (PHI) to prevent data breaches and legal penalties.

How does a remote compliance HIPAA professional typically collaborate with other departments to ensure data security across the organization?

A Remote Compliance HIPAA professional regularly partners with IT, legal, human resources, and clinical teams to develop and enforce policies that protect patient health information. This collaboration often involves leading virtual training sessions, reviewing departmental procedures for compliance gaps, and responding to security incidents. Effective communication and project management skills are essential, as much of this coordination is conducted remotely through video calls, emails, and shared documentation. Building strong cross-functional relationships is key to fostering a culture of compliance and ensuring all teams understand their responsibilities under HIPAA regulations.

Job description

About Eko Health

Eko builds AI and digital tools to enable every healthcare provider to more accurately detect heart and lung disease - the leading causes of death globally. Our FDA cleared, industry leading products are used by hundreds of thousands of clinicians on millions of patients around the world. With Eko, clinicians can detect cardiac and pulmonary disease with higher accuracy, diagnose with more confidence, manage treatment effectively, and ultimately give their patients the best care possible.

We have strong venture capital backing from investors like Artis Ventures, Questa Capital, Highland Capital, and Mayo Clinic Ventures.

Recognized by TIME magazine in 2025 as one of the world's top healthcare technology companies, Eko is one of the fastest growing digital health companies with products used around the world at some of the most prestigious health systems.

We have more than 8 FDA clearances including novel AI algorithms, and we invest heavily in quality clinical research and R&D to build and validate exceptional products for patients we care deeply about.

We've built a mission driven, high performing, talented, and diverse team of engineers, physicians, PhD's, creatives, and technologists. We are committed to investing in each other and our mission to ensure all patients have access to high quality care.

We are headquartered in Emeryville, California and privately-held with world class investors and partners.

Role Summary

At Eko, the ability to listen is the ability to care. We're improving on the stethoscope already in every clinician's hand and making it the front end of an intelligent software-and-AI platform - and health systems are how we bring it to patients at scale.

As Senior Product Manager, Enterprise, you'll own the SENSORA platform, telehealth, and the integrations, dashboards, and governance that take a health system from a flagged exam to the right patient, in the right system, with the loop closed. Your job is enterprise software clinicians actually want - capture in seconds, results that land where they belong, and dashboards that show the value - not another tool IT forces on them. You'll own integration, security, and analytics end-to-end, and translate what large systems need into a crisp, prioritized backlog for web and platform engineering.

Essential Functions

  • Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for your area - and the outcomes it's measured by.
  • Live with clinicians and customers; let real workflows, not opinions, drive what you build.
  • Turn strategy into a sharp, prioritized backlog and build it shoulder-to-shoulder with Engineering and Design.
  • Own the whole lifecycle - discovery to launch to iteration - and sweat the craft so the product is genuinely delightful to use.
  • Partner across Data Science/AI, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, navigating FDA-regulated development along the way.
  • Own EHR integration and interoperability (HL7 v2, FHIR, SMART on FHIR) so results land where clinicians work.
  • Make enterprise security, data governance, and compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2) product strengths, not afterthoughts.
  • Own the dashboards and analytics that close the loop - detected, flagged, tested, confirmed - and prove ROI to each system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Note: Job duties may change at any time with or without notice.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of product management experience, including B2B / enterprise software in healthcare.
  • Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR integrations and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7 v2, FHIR, SMART on FHIR).
  • Experience productizing enterprise requirements: security, identity / access, data governance, and compliance (HIPAA; SOC 2 a plus).
  • Experience with dashboards, reporting, or analytics products.
  • Track record delivering B2B healthcare products deployed at health-system scale.
  • Strong ability to translate enterprise requirements into a prioritized engineering backlog.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with telehealth or remote patient monitoring solutions.
  • Experience with integration platforms or interface engines (Redox, Rhapsody, etc.).
  • Experience deploying into IDNs and large health systems.
  • Experience at a high-growth, venture-backed digital health or medical-device company.
  • Experience with SaaS / subscription business models.
  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement (CPT coding) and the provider / payer / health-system ecosystem.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Travel up to 30% to clinician and customer sites, conferences, and company meetings.
  • Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Why join Eko Health?
Benefits and Perks We Offer:
  • The opportunity to work on products that impact the health of millions of people.
  • Generous paid-time off
  • Stock incentive plans
  • Medical/Dental/Vision, Disability + Life Insurance
  • One Medical membership
  • Parental Leave
  • 401k Matching
  • Learning and Development stipend

We believe the ability to listen is the ability to care. Eko was named one of the World's Top HealthTech Companies of 2025 by TIME and Statista. This honor reflects the mission to transform cardiac and pulmonary care through AI-powered stethoscopes and digital health solutions.
