Overview
This is a fully remote position. Only candidates who permanently reside in the state of Florida will be considered for employment. Sarasota Arthritis Centers is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Infusion Coordinator to join our Prior Authorizations team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our patients receive timely access to infusion therapies by coordinating and managing complex insurance prior authorizations.
The ideal candidate will have experience navigating specialty medication prior authorizations, possess exceptional organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This individual will work closely with providers, patients, insurance carriers, and our prior authorization vendor to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely processing of infusion authorizations.
KeyResponsibilities

  • Receive medication packets from Patient Navigators and initiate insurance verification and benefit investigations for infusion therapies.
  • Determine patient financial responsibility, identify copay assistance options, and communicate expected out-of-pocket costs to patients.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for infusion medications, submit renewals as required, and document all steps in the EMR.
  • Create and update chart alerts, authorization templates, and scheduling readiness indicators to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Coordinate scheduling for all initial and ongoing infusion appointments, ensuring timely treatment initiation.
  • Review the daily infusion schedule to confirm authorizations, balances, and insurance status for each patient.
  • Scrub upcoming infusion schedules to identify potential coverage or documentation issues in advance.
  • Collaborate with Billing and Revenue Cycle staff to resolve denials or pre-service issues before treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records and ensure compliance with payer and practice policies.
  • Contribute to departmental goals by maintaining assigned patient caseloads and completing weekly processing targets.
  • Provide exceptional service to patients and referring providers through timely communication and follow-up.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certification in medical office administration preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in prior authorizations, infusion coordination, or related healthcare field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical benefits, infusion billing, and payer requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage a high volume of cases.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate between clinical and administrative departments.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, insurance portals, and Microsoft Office applications.
