• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that may include pre-crisis strategies, behavioral guidelines, risk assessments, and medication treatment plans.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards by completing required documentation promptly and accurately.
• Utilize evidence-based screening tools as part of your clinical practice, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement supportive behavioral health plans that cater to the unique needs of each client.
• Serve as an active participant in licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring that all practices meet established standards.
• Act as a liaison between clients and relevant service systems, including state agencies and community partners, to facilitate access to resources and support.
• Communicate effectively with both clients and community partners to uphold our organizational mission and promote program offerings.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, representing Genesis Health Clinic at conferences and meetings related to mental health advocacy.
• Promote agency values in every aspect of your work, enhancing community trust and collaboration.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Clinic Director to support overall clinic operations.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Genesis Health Clinic, you will work with a diverse clientele that includes individuals struggling with emotional disturbances, substance use disorders, and those with developmental disabilities or brain injuries. Your role is crucial in assisting clients in navigating their mental health challenges and achieving their personal wellness goals.

• A Master's Degree in a behavioral health field is required, providing you with the foundational knowledge necessary for effective counseling.
• Possession of an independent LMHC license from the state board is imperative to practice in Virginia.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical records and prepare comprehensive reports, crucial for compliance and continuity of care.
• Awareness and experience working within interdisciplinary teams, promoting collaborative care strategies.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective expression of ideas and fostering trust with clients and colleagues.
• Strong decision-making capabilities rooted in your professional knowledge and ethical standards.

• Experience working with community health initiatives or within a community health clinic setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the challenges and strategies pertaining specifically to substance use recovery and behavioral health issues.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, enhancing documentation efficiency and client care coordination.
