Our engineers and scientists work together to support the full lifecycle of dam and levee systems, from concept through construction, with a focus on public safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory excellence. Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards
What You'll Be Doing
As a valuable part of our Dams Team, a Senior Project Manager will play a vital role in driving the success of dam related projects throughout the Northeast with responsibilities such as:
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to design and conduct technical work, address and solve complex engineering challenges
  • Serve as a primary client contact, manage relationships with private, state, and local government clients to promote successful project outcomes
  • Lead business development efforts, including responding to RFPs, develop proposals, presentations, and shape project approaches, scopes, and fees including risk identification/management
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, while adhering to budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical leadership, conduct quality control reviews, and mentor project managers and junior staff
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the Dams Team and expand Tighe & Bond's presence in the dam and ecological restoration sector
  • Actively engage in industry organizations, represent Tighe & Bond through committee leadership, conference presentations, publications, and professional involvement

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Substantial experience in consulting engineering within the dams, river restoration, or water resources engineering industry, with increasing responsibility
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer
  • Familiarity with New England and New York regulations, permitting and funding opportunities related to the dam processes
  • Proven experience in successful project management, including leading teams, managing budgets and schedules, and coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership ability with a passion for team building, mentoring and developing staff
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Additional experience in business development, proposal writing, and strategic planning
  • Familiarity with New England and New York dam safety regulations, permitting processes and funding opportunities
  • Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods (e.g., design-build, progressive design-build, and construction manager at risk)
  • Additional licensure in multiple states to support diverse project needs
