Job Summary:
Unmanned Systems Instructor: Conducts technical training courses for customers and/or employees in the use of complex situations for multiple products. Interacts with customer and functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses. Prepares lesson plans from engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation. Works with engineering, technical support, and manufacturing to ensure that course material reflects current product features. Instructs participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions. Follows up to determine applicability of course material.
Teledyne Defense USNA is seeking a highly talented team member to provide operator level training on our unmanned systems such as SkyRaider/SkyRanger, Black Hornet 3, Black Hornet 4, and Rogue 1, customer specific focused training, assist with product testing and validation, and provide technical field support for Teledyne's customers on a global scale. Teledyne is looking for a technically proficient candidate that has great leadership skills and an ability to train and coach others to fly, operate, and maintain the world's best unmanned systems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain and teach both formal and on-the-job training for our customers.
  • Provide technical field support of company products; resolve maintenance and operational issues, and follow through to make sure customers have what they need to stay operational
  • Aid the customer in troubleshooting procedures for the system and network/communications hardware.
  • Provide customer demonstrations and support to the business development team.
  • Interpret technical documents and monitor product performance; analyze technical data and evaluating maintenance procedures.
  • Provide feedback to Teledyne's engineers for feature requests and product improvement.
  • Collaborate with inter-company organizations to isolate equipment problems not detected by diagnostics and standard documentation.
  • Provide customer service support by responding to all incoming calls and correspondence, basic troubleshooting and redirection (if required).

Job Qualifications:
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, training/customer support and writing skills.
  • Desired: Two-year general business degree or equivalent with 2-3 years related work experience or a candidate with 2-3 years of focused experience in a professional service/training role with a medium to high volume hi-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Candidate must have proven abilities to perform under stress and to effectively multi-task without sacrificing quality output.
  • Operational experience with US DoD as an unmanned systems operator
  • Instructor experience, ideally with delivering military, commercial or general aviation curricula
  • Certified DoD sUAS Master Trainer through a DoD sponsored schoolhouse considered an asset
  • Minimum two (2) years business application experience with Microsoft office (Word & Excel)
  • Ability to obtain an FAA Part 107 Certification
  • Ability to operate independently and interface with all levels of customer organizations
  • Capable of concise reporting and remote communications
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Wireless Communications
  • Software test or system Validation and Verification experience considered an asset
  • Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance

At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel (minimum 75% of travel) to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work.
