Job description

The Staff Pad has partnered with Blue Ridge Medical Center, located in Blue Ridge, GA and is seeking a detail-driven, experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Coder to join a growing team in a fully remote role. In this role, you'll review, analyse and assign diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient, outpatient, and/or emergency department records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems in accordance with official coding guidelines and facility standards.

What You'll Do Review and abstract clinical documentation to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes Ensure compliance with federal regulations and hospital policies related to coding and billing Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to clarify documentation when needed Assist in resolving coding-related billing discrepancies and support reimbursement accuracy Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks established by the HIM department Stay current on coding guidelines, payer regulations and industry best practices Participate in internal audits and ongoing education for coding accuracy and compliance Communicate effectively with physicians, HIM leadership and cross-functional healthcare teams What We're Looking For Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required AHIMA or AAPC certification required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent) Minimum of 2 years of professional medical coding experience Strong working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems Familiarity with CMS regulations, medical terminology, and healthcare documentation Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Excellent attention to detail, organization skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting Why You'll Love Working Here At Blue Ridge Medical Center, we believe exceptional patient care starts with exceptional people.
