Desert View Psychiatry PC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. In this vital role, the LICSW will deliver comprehensive psychosocial assessments, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning aimed at improving patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of patients and their families to identify emotional, social, and environmental factors affecting their well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing appropriate social work interventions.
  • Facilitate discharge planning involving multidisciplinary teams, including consulting physicians, case managers, and insurance personnel, to ensure effective transitions of care.
  • Provide crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and long-term therapy as needed, utilizing various therapeutic techniques including individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Educate patients and families regarding illness adaptation, treatment options, and available community resources.
  • Assist in evaluating patients, particularly those in oncology settings, for mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, providing targeted support to improve quality of life.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support and facilitate necessary interventions, including performing involuntary examinations under the Baker Act when clinically indicated.
  • Serve as an expert consultant within the organization, offering guidance to staff and presenting at educational conferences to enhance present-day psychosocial oncology practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves patients facing significant health challenges, including individuals dealing with mental health issues, chronic illnesses, and those undergoing treatment for cancer. Qualifications
  • A Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Social Work or a related field is required, with an active License of Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in good standing for the state of Massachusetts.
