Job Summary:

The Academic Technology Administrator is responsible for the administration and technical support of FNU's academic technology ecosystem, including systems like the learning management system, course syllabus platform, exam integrity system, media platform. This role partners with academic leadership to ensure academic platforms are reliable, secure, well-governed, and aligned with institutional and regulatory requirements. The Academic Technology Administrator also serves as a technical resource for faculty and staff, developing training materials and providing platform guidance that supports effective use of administered systems.

Supervisor Responsibility:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Academic Technology Platform Administration

  • Serve as the primary administrator for FNUโ€™s core academic technology platforms, including the learning management system and related academic tools.
  • Maintain system configuration, user roles, permissions, and documentation to support reliable day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate with IT and vendors on integrations, authentication, updates, and issue resolution to ensure platform stability and security.
  • Perform testing and validation before system updates, new tool rollouts, and academic term transitions.

Compliance, Security, and Reporting

  • Support compliance and governance requirements by maintaining appropriate platform settings, records, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with academic leadership, accessibility, information security, and other institutional stakeholders to ensure systems align with academic, accessibility, privacy, and regulatory expectations.
  • Generate and maintain reports, audit trails, and system data needed for operations, planning, and accreditation or compliance reviews.

Platform Support and Operational Improvement

  • Provide advanced support for academic technology issues, serving as an escalation point for platform-related problems affecting faculty, staff, and academic operations.
  • Develop and maintain efficient workflows for course setup, user access, enrollment-related processes, and routine system maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, expand use of existing platform capabilities, and support enhancements that improve reliability and service delivery.

Technical Training and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, training resources, and onboarding materials that help faculty and staff use administered systems effectively.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership, IT colleagues, and vendors on platform changes, support processes, and technology planning.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in academic technology administration, accessibility, and system integration practices.

Provide service to the University through activities such as involvement in FNU shared governance (e.g. committees, workgroups), FNU sponsored activities (e.g. charity drives, community-outreach activities), and/or service to the profession (e.g. presentations, professional organization committee work).
