What you'll do

Our Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimal financial management, and efficient operations across Docusign. The Finance BI team partners with various organizations at Docusign to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, and make critical data more readily available-ultimately empowering teams with data-driven insights. The Finance BI Developer is a unique, forward-thinking role designed for a creative problem-solver who can translate big-picture business needs into functional data solutions. In addition to traditional and manual coding skillsets, this role leverages cutting-edge Al tools and LLMs to design, build, and deploy data insights. You will own the lifecycle of a project from initial idea to final implementation-independently using Al to bridge technical gaps, write code, and build data models. This role is highly execution-focused, allowing you to dive deep into data and build out-of-the-box solutions with minimal reliance on heavy cross-functional alignment or extensive stakeholder management.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, Finance Business Intelligence.

Responsibility

  • Take high-level financial goals and independently turn them into working prototypes, data models, and interactive analytics dashboards

  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to aggregate and structure data for optimized reporting

  • Create and maintain visual dashboards (e.g., Tableau) to monitor KPIs, business performance metrics, and industry trends

  • Actively use Al tools to generate SQL queries, build data pipelines, and troubleshoot technical roadblocks in a Snowflake data warehouse environment

  • Use a high degree of creativity to solve data fragmentation issues, using Al to fast-track normalization and data prep processes

  • Ensure standardized definitions of Finance KPIs are accurately represented in the auditable outputs and final dashboards

What you bring

Basic

  • 8+ years related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years related experience with a Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, Statistics, Computer Science), or equivalent practical experience with a powerful aptitude for technology

  • Experience in Full Stack Data Proficiency: Data Ingestion, Data Modeling, BI Reporting Automation, Analytics

  • Experience with Data tools and Coding languages: SQL, Python, Snowflake, and BI tools like Tableau

  • Experience using Al tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cortex Code) to build applications, write code, or manipulate data sets

  • Experience acting as a trusted advisor and translation layer between the data and the insights to various finance stakeholders

Preferred

  • Conceptual Finance Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of SaaS business metrics (e.g., ARR, revenue, forecasting, quote-to-cash concepts)

  • Experience working directly with FP&A stakeholders

  • High Al Literacy: Exceptional skill in prompt engineering, iterating with Al, and utilizing Al to learn and execute unfamiliar technical tasks on the fly

  • Creative Vision: The ability to see the "big picture" of a given business problem and business department needs and envision the exact end-product required to solve it

  • Agility and Autonomy: Scope and mock up MVPs quickly, A strong preference for independent execution and heads-down implementation over extensive meeting schedules

  • Strong visual portfolio or examples of independent projects built from scratch

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $146,400.00 - $235,375.00 base salary

Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $140,100.00 - $197,925.00 base salary

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $140,100.00 - $206,775.00 base salary

Washington DC: $146,400.00 - $206,775.00 base salary

Ohio: $122,500.00 - $172,975.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
