Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented MOT Designer, Principal (3D ORD Modeler) to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects that we have either won, are currently pursuing, or will pursue across the nation.

Some of the larger projects are located in the states of:

Tennessee

Georgia

North Carolina

Virginia

Indiana

In this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors.

This position is remote, and the selected candidate will have flexibility in work location while still supporting virtual collaboration with Parsons teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead 3D modeling of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and construction staging using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and related platforms
  • Develop integrated 3D models showing temporary alignments, cross sections, signage, barriers, and phasing for major projects
  • Coordinate 3D MOT models with roadway, structures, utilities, and other discipline models to ensure consistency and clash-free designs
  • Produce high-quality plan sheets, visualizations, and model-based deliverables to support design, review, and construction
  • Develop and implement 3D CADD standards, templates, and workflows for MOT design on large programs
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to designers and engineers on 3D modeling best practices
  • Support design-build teams with rapid model updates and scenario evaluations for MOT alternatives
  • Participate in QA/QC of models and ensure adherence to client and Parsons digital delivery requirements

What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Associate degree in drafting/design technology or equivalent technical education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation CADD production with substantial 3D modeling experience using OpenRoads Designer or similar tools
  • Demonstrated experience developing 3D models for roadway or MOT applications on complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of CADD standards, workflows, and file management for large projects
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • Experience on large design-build or P3 projects using model-based delivery for MOT
  • Experience with visualization tools or platforms linked to 3D models (e.g., LumenRT, Navisworks, or similar)
  • Experience developing CADD standards or leading digital delivery initiatives
  • Experience providing training or mentoring on 3D modeling tools and workflows
  • Familiarity with BIM processes and data requirements for transportation projects
