The Senior Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, supply chain, finance, installation, commissioning, operations, suppliers, and customers - in delivering large-scale automation solutions at client sites. This highly visible role ensures teamsremainaligned,execution stays on track, and risks areidentifiedand managed early. Success in this role depends on crisp, proactivecommunicationand the ability to bring together diverse groups to drive a common outcome. You will work directly with customers andSymbotic'sexecutive leadership and may provide oversight and mentorship to other project managers.

We oversee projects from planning to system acceptance, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as the central connection point between technical teams, stakeholders, and customers, we create clarity, drive accountability, and ensure each project delivers measurable value to our clients and to the business.

  • Ownership of project delivery, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and qualityobjectivesare consistently achieved.

  • Lead cross-functional teams through the execution phase of the project, from early site preparation and coordination to final system acceptance, whilemaintaininga strong focus on project goals.

  • Partner closely with engineering, supply chain, quality, installation, and commissioning leaders to coordinate timelines and ensure rapid, high-quality system delivery.

  • Proactivelyidentifyand manage risks & opportunities to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Champion continuous improvement by refining processes, standards, and communications that improve efficiency and team collaboration.

  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, providing clear and consistent updates to both internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track.

  • Foster a culture built on transparency,timelydecision-making, and strong partnerships across all project participants.

  • Remote, travel-based position.For this remote role,we'relooking for someone in the Eastern or Central time zone to ensure sufficient on-site collaboration with team membersin those regions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 7years experiencemanaging large automation, material handling, or construction projects.

  • Provenexpertisein scheduling, scope, cost, and risk management for complex technical projects.

  • Background in robotic automation, ASRS, or material handlingstronglypreferred.

  • Experience managing design/build, installation, and construction projects.

  • Skilled at stakeholder management across executives, clients, contractors, and engineering teams.

  • Track recordof delivery on time and within budget.

  • Strong problem-solving under pressure and ability to implement creative solutions.

  • Effective negotiator with proven ability to balance competing priorities.

  • Proficient with scheduling software, earned value management, and data-driven performance tracking (Smartsheet / Jira)

  • Ability toprovidetechnical insight andfacilitateinformed design/process discussions.

  • Willingness to travel up to 60%.

  • Up to 60%of travel may berequired. Employees must have a valid driver's license andthe ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employeeis responsible forowning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Employeemust have a valid driver's license and the abilityto drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. Ourmain officeis in Wilmington, MA. The person taking this position willbe requiredto perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.

  • The employeeis routinely required towork at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Mustcomply withall safety requirements and protocols, including without limitationLock out tag-out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

  • Approximately 75% of site time will be spent on a construction site with PPErequired(hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).

  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105 to 32 Fahrenheit.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $125,000.00 - $171,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
