What are remote audio sales?

Remote audio sales refer to the process of selling audio-related products or services—such as microphones, headphones, sound systems, or software—while working from a location outside of a traditional office, often from home. Professionals in this role connect with potential customers via phone, email, video calls, or online platforms to demonstrate products, answer questions, and close sales. This job typically requires strong communication skills, a good understanding of audio technology, and the ability to manage sales processes independently. Working remotely provides flexibility, but also requires self-motivation and discipline to meet sales targets.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Audio Sales professional, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Audio Sales professional, you need a solid understanding of audio technology, sales principles, and often a background in business or communications. Familiarity with CRM software, virtual meeting platforms, and audio demonstration tools is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and self-motivation help build client relationships and drive results in a remote environment. These competencies are critical for effectively engaging clients, closing deals, and achieving sales targets in a competitive, technology-driven market.

That's why we've been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices around the globe. This role can be done from any of our offices across the United States remotely from home. It's about impact, not location.

The Latin American team is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager, Professional Audio to identify, develop, and support new business opportunities for our specialized audio solutions in the residential and light commercial markets. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of audio technology and a proven track record of success in sales and business development within the region and Mexico in particular.

  • Forecast Guidance: Acquire in-depth knowledge of partner businesses to provide market insights and contribute to precise sales forecasting.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years' experience selling consumer electronics thru distributors and dealers in Latin America and Mexico in particular

  • Good understanding of professional audio sales channels, including distributors, dealers, and systems integrators

  • Excellent relationship-building skills

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated and adaptable to change

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

  • Fluency in English and Spanish

Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don't apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria. If you don't have 100% of the skills listed, we strongly encourage you to apply if interested.

Visa Sponsorship: Sonos is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at this time. We ask that applicants be authorized to work for any US employer, both now and in the future.
