Job description

Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our dynamic team in Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives on challenging, high-level work and values collaboration within a well-establishedand growingorganization.

Our team handles a diverse range of matters, including construction defect, premises liability, product liability, and other complex general liability cases. This is an in-office position that offers one remote day a week with the potential for more remote days as the paralegal progresses.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will take ownership of your files and work closely with attorneys through all phases of litigationfrom initial pleadings through trial preparation. You'll play a critical role in driving cases forward while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and organization.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal in civil defense litigation
  • Experience handling Texas matters in both state and federal courts
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and legal terminology
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail in drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows applications, e-filing systems, and online research tools
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including interaction with senior-level professionals
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Sound judgment in managing a diverse workload
  • Experience with billing and time entry
  • Paralegal certificate or degree preferred, but not required
