About the Team
The PowerFAIDS Cloud team at College Board is a close-knit, dedicated group of professionals with a passion for higher education. The team is committed to providing cutting-edge technology solutions and customer support to facilitate the awarding of over $7 billion in financial aid each year. We pride ourselves on being innovative in our industry by continuously improving our products and services. This team is currently made up of 30+ engineers, a mix of full-time staff and contractors working on delivering software as a service solution for Financial Aid Management.
About the Opportunity
As our Test Engineer, you are highly motivated with a passion for analyzing user stories and creating test scenarios and plans. You will help to develop and execute test cases to ensure software quality, and compliance with User Interface, API, and back-end systems.
In this role, you will:
  • Conduct software testing functions on a Financial Aid Management application
  • Provide guidance to others in carrying out QA duties, while performing software testing responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain technical testing methodologies and processes
  • Develop test strategies and plans; oversee the development of and/or develop and maintain test data
  • Develop and deliver verbal and written status reports on the testing of features
  • Work with software engineers and product owners to identify tests to ensure the quality and accuracy of story delivery
  • Assist in the confirmation of bugs reported from outside sources, document and communicate them to the development team and verify when resolved
  • Assist in the identification, selection, and implementation of software tools and technologies, and testing techniques and procedures that facilitate automated testing and quality assurance

About you, you have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Financial Aid Management systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to clearly discern client needs
  • Ability to work as a member of cross-functional project teams
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical ability
  • Ability to function both with minimal supervision and in a team-oriented unit
  • Deep interest in expanding educational opportunities for all students
  • Experience and/or demonstrated ability conducting software systems testing
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, browser DOM, CI/CD, DevOps and AWS
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
