Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Remote Application Processor/Eligibility Specialist to support a public sector program serving applicants in Indiana. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can support a high-volume program environment by reviewing applications, verifying supporting documentation, determining eligibility, and providing exceptional customer service to applicants. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced setting, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and have experience reviewing detailed information for accuracy and completeness.


Responsibilities:

  • Examine submitted applications and supporting materials to ensure records are complete, accurate, and aligned with program standards.
  • Verify supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and eligibility requirements.
  • Analyze household, financial, and demographic information to determine program eligibility.
  • Evaluate household, financial, and demographic details to make informed eligibility decisions based on established criteria.
  • Calculate income figures and other qualifying measures to support accurate case outcomes.
  • Update electronic files and case notes promptly to maintain reliable and current program records.
  • Investigate missing details, conflicting information, or documentation gaps and take appropriate steps toward resolution.
  • Communicate with applicants to explain next steps, request required materials and provide updates on case progress.
  • Protect confidential information by following proper handling procedures and maintaining discretion in all interactions.
  • Manage a high-volume workload while meeting expectations for quality, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Work across multiple databases and software platforms at the same time to document activity and process cases efficiently.

• Prior experience in application review, eligibility assessment, case support, claims handling, or a related processing role preferred.

• Strong accuracy and document review skills with the ability to identify inconsistencies and incomplete information.

• Ability to interpret written policies, procedures, and eligibility rules and apply them consistently.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data entry, validation, sorting, filtering, formulas, calculations, and spreadsheet reporting.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, PDF handling, and database navigation.

• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting professionally with applicants and internal stakeholders.

• Experience reviewing financial records or income documentation is a plus.
