Position : Claims Analytics Manager
Location : Remote (PA)
Duration : Long term Contract
As a member of our TPA Operations team, the Manager, TPA Business Analytics will lead a team of Analytics and Metrics Specialists who are responsible for the data analysis and reporting of PMA Management Corp. The Assistant Manager will have responsibility for setting the strategy for the team, developing new analytic capabilities for the organization and will partner with members of Operations, Sales, Service, and Claims Leadership to define and advance these objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Design, plan and manage the execution of business metrics and analytics transformation initiatives
  • Drive reporting functionality and business insights from data analysis. Provide actionable recommendations based on analysis of the data that will result in operational improvement and efficiency
  • Define and manage project scope, timelines and deliverables and identify the interdependencies across projects and functions
  • Evaluate broker portals and digital sales platforms to improve outcomes related to lead generation and new business development
  • Develop staff to respond to current and anticipated needs of the department as well as determining career development goals of individuals on the team
  • Provide business and technical expertise for the analytics process, tools and applications for PMAMC. Serve as the champion to advanced analytics and ensure the coordination of data and analytics into the decision making process.
  • Partner with other PMA leaders from other functions to contribute to large-scale strategic projects as well as ongoing operational activities from a data perspective
  • Analyze the business KPIs and metrices that help to drive effective decision making of the claims, sales and service functions
  • Oversee the production and distribution of weekly, monthly and ad hoc senior management reports and presentations
  • Engage in continuous learning of the TPA business environment so as to improve organizational outcomes
  • Support Actuarial department to develop profitability analysis by line of business and for core and enhanced services
  • Ensure the highest level of customer services across the strategic initiative and business insight teams. Promote ongoing spirit of collaboration, teamwork and engagement with all areas
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency with focus on driving the standardization, optimization, automation of analytics strategy
  • Oversee the design, implementation and best practices of Sharepoint sites and applications
  • Promote effective communication among and between work groups and between management and employees.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.

Requirements
  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or equivalent professional experience, typically defined as 5+ years, in the insurance industry is required
  • MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
  • Experience with analytics in the commercial casualty insurance industry required.
  • Experience with analytics in the workers compensation insurance industry strongly preferred
  • Background in TPA, Insurance and Claims is strongly preferred
  • Experience with data modeling strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing, leading, coaching and developing a team of analytics professionals is preferred
  • Excellent customer service and collaboration skills gained through previous work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Product Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent Excel and MS Access skills required; knowledge of HTML, SQL, VBA preferred
  • Proficiency with Power BI strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint 365/Sharepoint Online platform functionality preferred
  • Solid understanding of communication and collaboration technologies
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Ability to challenge status quo and work under ambiguous circumstances
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and to work and collaborate with others considering the needs of all affected groups
  • Ability to build/leverage relationships across functions and the organization to achieve business results
  • Strong execution ability and sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel for business purposes; approximately 15%
