Key Responsibilities:
News & Analysis
  • Break news and deliver exclusive reporting on the US airline sector
  • Produce sharp analysis and enterprise reporting on airline strategy, competition, fleet developments, networks, sustainability, regulation, and financial performance
  • Cover key industry events, earnings, leadership changes, and operational developments
  • Contribute to both digital-first coverage and longer-form editorial projects

Data & Research Support
  • Support the airlines team's data-driven journalism and market analysis projects
  • Work with editors and analysts to interpret operational, financial, and network data
  • Contribute research and editorial support for Airline Strategy Awards coverage and related project

Source Building & Industry Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airline executives, analysts, regulators, unions, airports, and industry stakeholders
  • Represent FlightGlobal at industry conferences, media briefings, and events
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Global Airlines Editor and wider transport and aerospace editorial teams
  • Collaborate across digital, magazine, multimedia, and special editorial projects
  • Support coverage priorities for Airline Business Magazine where required
  • Develop a strong understanding of the commercial aviation landscape and emerging trends

FlightGlobal is seeking an ambitious and well-connected Americas Airlines Reporter to join its global airlines editorial team. Reporting to the Global Airlines Editor, the role will focus on delivering exclusive news, agenda-setting analysis, and insightful coverage of the Americas airline industry across FlightGlobal's digital and print platforms.
The successful candidate will cover major airlines, low-cost carriers, airline strategy, regulation, finance, networks, labour relations, sustainability, and market developments in the region. While the role is primarily centred on news and analysis, the reporter will also support data-led journalism projects and contribute to editorial research and coverage related to the Airline Strategy Awards and Airline Business Magazine.
