As a Residential Lead Carpenter, you will oversee residential remodeling and construction projects from start to finish while performing hands-on skilled carpentry work. You will serve as the on-site leader responsible for maintaining schedules, coordinating project phases, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering exceptional workmanship across remodeling, repairs, structural carpentry, trim, framing, drywall, and finish carpentry projects. This position requires strong leadership, organization, communication, and technical carpentry expertise.

About the Role

The Residential Lead Carpenter is responsible for managing daily project execution while performing advanced carpentry work on high-end residential remodeling and home improvement projects. Responsibilities include framing, trim installation, finish carpentry, drywall repair, structural repairs, reading blueprints, coordinating daily job site activity, maintaining quality control, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role works directly with homeowners, project managers, and internal teams to ensure every project reflects Vailes Home Improvement Services' commitment to craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Candidates should have at least five years of carpentry experience with strong expertise in residential remodeling, home improvement, and construction. Experience in custom homes or higher-end residential projects is strongly preferred. Successful candidates must be able to read blueprints and project plans, understand construction methods and building codes, lead work on-site, maintain organized schedules, and consistently deliver exceptional craftsmanship. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required, along with the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate power tools and carpentry equipment. High school diploma or GED required.
