Summary:

The Plant Manager plans, coordinates, and supervises the production operations, hazardous waste fuel program, maintenance activities, quality and safety programs, and other related functions involved in plant operations. This position incorporates directives provided by corporate management into policies and procedures to maintain standards and schedules.  The position exercises direct or indirect supervision over a large number of employees.

What you’ll be contributing: 

  • Conducts meetings with plant staff personnel to communicate, coordinate and discuss plant operations. 
  • Monitors, inspects, and reviews all plant activities.
  • Ensures production schedule corresponds with sales forecasts.
  • Assists in investigating customer and quality problems and concerns.
  • Meets with government agencies and community groups concerning plant activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Prepares regular reports regarding plant production operations.
  • Attends Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) training for waste-derived fuel activities.
  • Promotes effective job performance through motivation, goals, and providing feedback.
  • Promotes the safety program, compliance with safety standards, and participates in safety meetings.
  • Establishes plant standards, short-term goals, and long-term strategic plans for production, maintenance, and improvements.
  • Discusses new products, equipment, and ideas with staff and vendors.
  • Analyzes plant costs and explore methods to improve productivity cost-effectively.
  • Uses technology to develop a continuous improvement plan for the plant.
  • Troubleshoots various problems and performance barriers.  
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, chemistry, natural sciences, business administration, or closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
  • Minimum 10 years in a cement or lime manufacturing facility with specific exposure to plant management responsibilities. 
  • Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly   
  • Ability to effectively coach and deliver constructive feedback   
  • Ability to inspire and develop staff
  • Proficient in effective negotiation skills in business and construction contracts   
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office365   
  • Ability to effectively use computers for general word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, e-mail, internet, and customized company programs.   
  • Ability to communicate the company's vision into actionable goals and contributions for plant personnel.
  • Ability to network with industry professionals, consultants, vendors, suppliers, regulators, and the community.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental health regulations.
  • Knowledge of cement chemistry, physical testing, and concrete performance.
  • Knowledge of various systems for cement manufacturing (crushing, grinding, pyro processing, chemistry).
  • Ability to work from general policies and procedures.
  • Ability to refer to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of the organizational policy

Compensation:

•    Compensation: $180,000-$220,000
•    Eligible for yearly bonus
