Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team!

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting in all aspects of engineering design from concept planning to completion for designated projects, specific to the discipline of electrical engineering.
  • Develop electrical control designs that are compliant with engineering standards, practices, and codes.
  • Realize designs through translation of requirements and design specifications, coordinating across disciplines to ensure project scope is met.
  • Read and edit logic diagrams, wiring diagrams. Single lines and P&ID's.
  • Prepare drawings, technical specifications, and other visual aids.
  • Prepare and present technical presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop bill-of materials.
  • Perform factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests of electrical equipment and electrical installations.
  • Execute preventative maintenance plans at customer facilities. Document results.
  • Calibrate gas sensors, flame sensors, and other safety devices at customer facilities.
  • Assist with installation of controls panels and control devices.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in systems.
  • Comply with all aspects of the company safety program, including but not limited to: hazard communication, PPE requirements, and scheduled safety training.
  • Keep supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress.
  • Stay current on engineering developments, technology, materials, trends, and regulations.
  • Provide mentoring to team members as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and effectively work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot failures.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills; able to analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, with occasional overnight travel.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation to conduct client site visits.
