The Position:

Getac has an opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in Bloomington, Minnesota and deliver insights from massive-scale data in real time. The Site Reliability Engineer will be asked to solve various technical challenges as well as participate in many strategic discussions for development and deployment.

Essential Job Duties

  • Improve reilability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  • Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code for infrastructure automation
  • Utilize scripting methodologies or coding langugages to solve technical problems encountered in our custom workflow
  • Monitor application, database, and service performance and identify areas of improvement for time and possible cloud cost savings
  • Measure and optimize system performance
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications
  • Be responsibile for networking and infrastructure management in R&D enviornments to optimize resource utilization with minimal interruption
  • Research best approach and implement integrate solutions between internal and external software that the company utilizes

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related
  • 5+ years of strong knowledge and work experience in network and application securities and capability of providing suggestions
  • System administration capabilities on various OS and database types including Windows platform and Linux
  • Ability to review and understand application code and suggest R&D with possible improvements and fixes
  • Ability to react to production blocker and critical issues with urgency and help other teams providing related information
  • Proficiency at cloud deployment and management, Azure or AWS
  • Strong scripting capabilities on Python, Groovy, PHP, PowerShell, JavaScript, Perl or any other
  • Extensive experience in applicaction builds and packaging steps and scripts
  • Knowledge and experiences with various technologies including MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB or relevant non-relational DBB, MQTT, Kafka
  • 5+ years closely working with developers and QAs in the part of software development life cycle
  • 5+ years working experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer in medium to large scale organization
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience on CI/CD pipeline establishment and managmeent tools such as Jenkins or equivalent

Travel:

  • Minimum Travel for Company meetings.

The Location:

Getac is located in Irvine, CA but this position would be a hybrid (3 days in office) position located in our Bloomington, MN office.
