The range of services we offer includes landscaping, irrigation, mowing, lawn fertilization, landscape maintenance, outdoor and holiday lighting, snow removal and retail sales. POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Foreman is an integral part of our Maintenance team. The Foreman oversees and coordinates a crew of two to four employees to process work orders in our Maintenance department. The quality and customer satisfaction for each job will be the responsibility of the Maintenance Foreman. Daily equipment maintenance must be completed. This position will support other seasonal services as necessary. This is a full-time, seasonal position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
  • Leadership capability and demeanor to effectively manage and train a crew
  • Thoroughly understand all aspects of landscape and irrigation maintenance as outlined in company standard operating procedures
  • Operate equipment properly and safely
  • Ability to keep jobs on schedule and on budget while meeting production rates and maintaining quality standards
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed, accidents and workers' compensation claims are properly documented and reported
  • Follow all instructions given by the Supervisor
  • Prepare vehicles and equipment for the day's work
  • Demonstrate customer service and professionalism, communicating effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Perform all daily preventative maintenance on company equipment
  • Ability to use landscape software as needed to perform tasks
  • Be self sufficient and work effectively with little supervision
  • Be punctual, dependable, committed, and motivated to succeed
  • Responsible for snow removal routes
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities subject to change at any time with or without notice to accommodate seasonal and peak business demands

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
  • Landscape Maintenance - pruning, weeding, identification of plants, annual planting and design to add color, top dressing mulch or rock, planting, repairing sod, seeding, edging plant beds and clearing and removing brush
  • Mowing - mowing, trimming and blowing debris, using commercial mowers, trimmers and blowers
  • Irrigation Maintenance - wiring, controllers and valves, pressure testing, trenching/pulling pipe; replacing heads, rotors, valves, main and lateral lines, drip line, etc.; operating equipment, maintaining inventory, and servicing commercial and residential irrigation systems able to understand the layout of a job site
  • Knowledgeable in residential and commercial irrigation system operation and familiar with Hunter controllers
  • Responsible for seasonal maintenance including start ups, blow outs, and use of multimeter to troubleshoot and repair irrigation electrical systems

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in horticulture, landscaping, or other applicable is preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 1 year of maintenance and irrigation experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Possess valid driver's license and must be insurable on company's insurance policy

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company, including the ability to work overtime, holidays, evenings or weekends as necessary.
  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs. on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site
  • Exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat, etc.)
  • Extended periods of activity; walking, standing, kneeling, bending and lifting
  • Typical work week requires 40-55 hours, some Saturdays as needed

  • Wages start at $22.73/hour; actual wage based on experience
