As a Plant Engineering Reliability Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Reliability Engineer is part of the plant engineering/maintenance team dedicated to ensuring all assets perform at the ultimate level of performance. As a key contributor to our reliability efforts, you will outline a comprehensive and analytical approach to predict, prevent, eliminate or reduce equipment failures through application of current reliability techniques. Design and implement reliability improvement standards, on-going training and education, and equipment modifications in order to achieve world class maintenance reliability. Responsible for full Life Cycle Asset Management and keeping our deployed technology systems current. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Perform failure mode and effect analysis to assure the proper Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs are implemented, audited and improved on all existing and future assets.

  • Application of Reliability Based Maintenance programs such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

  • Assess & develop capability of craftspersons on their role in reliability improvement and to advance their technical capabilities.

  • Analyze data (failure, cost, uptime, etc.) using appropriate reliability analysis tools to develop & implement improvement plans.

  • Serve as the equipment reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the business and lead reliability improvement teams.

  • Manage and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) detailingthe results of the reliability programs activities.

  • Provide leadership support for Maintenance Conscious Engineering strategies.

  • Perform & document equipment criticality analysis in support of an effective critical spares strategy.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)

  • Three (3) combined years of experience in maintenance, engineering, manufacturing and/or plant engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Electrical/Control Engineering or Electro/Mechanical Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.

  • Ability to communicate, both written and oral, technical information to a diverse audience.

  • Professional reliability credentials such as: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician.

  • Experience with reliability analysis, predictive (PdM), and preventative maintenance (PM).

  • High level of understanding and ability to use analytical tools and troubleshooting.
