We're hiring a Maintenance and Reliability Planner to support preventive maintenance programs to provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of maintenance activities across our midstream operations. You'll support a portfolio of more than 50,000 assets across a broad range of equipment classes, including mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, automation, and civil/structural systems. The scope of the role spans operations in multiple Canadian provinces and U.S. states.

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; a trade certificate, diploma, or degree in a relevant technical field such as engineering is preferred

  • 10 years of relevant industry experience, with consideration for fewer years for candidates with a diploma or degree

  • Five years of maintenance and reliability experience in midstream, refining, upgrading, or in-situ operations

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability systems and processes, including SAP, SAP S/4HANA, Fieldglass, Ariba, GE APM, and OEMS MES/MM processes such as strategy implementation, optimization, work planning, and scheduling

  • Strong understanding of fixed plant asset classes, with a safety- and environment-focused approach to ensuring maintenance programs are executed safely and in accordance with accepted practices

  • Excellent communication, planning, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet timelines, and drive cost-effectiveness and continuous improvement

  • Ability to climb ladders, work in cold or hot environments, work in confined or restricted spaces, stoop, squat and carry objects up to 50lbs in weight.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, as required by the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and update maintenance items and plans based on approved asset strategies housed in GE APM (General Electric Asset Performance Management)

  • Create, use, and modify task lists, while maintaining a task list library that can be broadly applied across asset strategies

  • Collaborate with Asset Strategy Engineers to ensure criticalACR A/B (Asset Criticality Ranking) maintenance activities include the required checklists and supporting documentation

  • Identify and request all materials required to complete approved scopes of work using task list bills of materials, asset bills of materials, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)/material master searches, supplier catalogue searches, or free-text material requisitions

  • Add supplementary quality requirements to free-text material requests in accordance with quality assurance guidelines

  • Prioritize planning activities to ensure work is planned, released, and available for scheduling within the execution window, allowing time for procurement, vendor mobilization, resource alignment, and support from internal functions

  • Ensure work orders generate complete and accessible work packages for field execution teams, and collect and review work order feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Location and other key details:

  • Location: Calgary the role is office-based, while requiring occasional travel to the operating area.

  • Overnight travel for One week per quarter required, to walk down critical scopes of work, obtain feedback from peers and support desired outcomes
