The Director Business Development - BLS supports the Business Unit Leader in executing the strategy for business development and sales for the Biopharma Life Sciences (BLS) business in the region. This role focuses on identifying and developing key account opportunities, supporting proposal development, and coordinating internal resources to ensure successful project delivery. The Director of Business Development maintains and grows customer relationships through ethical sales practices and strategic engagement.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
Strategic Account Development
  • Partner with the Business Unit Leader and Director of Business Development to identify, qualify, and pursue strategic BLS accounts that align with business growth objectives.

Sales Execution
  • Lead the sales process for assigned opportunities, including client engagement, proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure. Ensure alignment with company goals and client expectations.

Proposal Leadership
  • Manage the development of high-quality proposals and presentations in collaboration with estimating, planning, operations, and marketing teams. Ensure proposals are compelling, accurate, and tailored to client needs.

Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders. Serve as a primary point of contact, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and long-term engagement.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with global and regional business units (GBU/RBU) to ensure seamless integration of business development efforts, resource planning, and project execution.

Market Intelligence & Positioning
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies. Provide insights to leadership and contribute to strategic planning and market positioning.

Brand Representation
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings. Promote the company's capabilities and thought leadership in the BLS sector.

CRM & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities in the CRM system. Provide regular updates, forecasts, and performance reports to leadership.

Mentorship & Team Support
  • Support junior business development staff through coaching, training, and sharing best practices. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Process Improvement
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of business development processes, tools, and methodologies. Recommend innovations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Compliance & Ethics
  • Ensure all business development activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

Show your expertise
Minimum Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Related Field.
• 10+ years of experience in a Business Development or Sales role.
• Prior experience in the construction and/or engineering industry
Preferred
• Prior Experience in the Biopharma Life Sciences or advance technical facilities industry preferred
