Job Description

Based in NYC, the Senior Regional Asset Protection Manager will lead and oversee all Asset Protection functions for the Central Region, comprising 32 locations across Toronto, Michigan, Chicago, Florida, Texas, Washington D.C., London, and other assigned clubs, with multiple new openings planned for 2026 and beyond.

This role also manages physical security and incident response for three NYC corporate offices. The Senior Regional Asset Protection Manager will partner closely with Club Operations leaders and with our legal and risk management departments, travel regularly throughout the region, and serve as a key contributor to Equinox's broader asset protection and risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Compliance

  • Contribute to the development and execution of asset protection objectives and strategic initiatives designed to protect members, employees, and brand reputation.
  • Identify and mitigate financial loss and risk exposures, including theft, fraud, liability claims, litigation, and complimentary membership abuse.
  • Conduct and ensure timely completion of Club Compliance Audits to identify operational exposures and monitor adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports with trend analysis on asset protection KPIs to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Design and deliver proactive incident-reduction and workplace violence prevention training programs across all clubs in the region.
  • Benchmark region's performance and present findings to VP, Asset Protection.

Physical Security & Technology

  • Review, advise on, and manage physical security standards to ensure the safety and security of members, employees, and corporate assets.
  • Manage all CCTV system access, service requests, maintenance, and troubleshooting for assigned clubs and corporate offices.
  • Review design and construction plans for new clubs and renovations, providing recommendations for physical security equipment and layout enhancements.
  • Provide training and support on the proper operation of CCTV, Access Control, and other security equipment.
  • Manage third-party security vendor post orders and service delivery across all fixed sites and on an as-needed basis throughout the region.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging security technologies-including AI-powered CCTV analytics, access control platforms, and visitor management software-to continuously strengthen the Asset Protection technology stack.

Investigations & Incident Response

  • Lead comprehensive internal and external investigations, including subject and witness interviews, evidence collection, and case documentation.
  • Review and respond to loss incident reports encompassing locker room theft, shoplifting, inappropriate conduct, threats and workplace violence, cash shortages, vandalism, robbery, burglary, employee theft or fraud, and other asset loss events.
  • Create, manage, and routinely review exception reports to identify potential fraud and other losses within club operations.
  • Partner with the Legal department on investigations, incident responses, and evidence preservation.
  • Partner with and serve as liaison to law enforcement and local authorities.
  • Support emergency evacuation planning and other safety incident response for regional clubs.
  • Develop and maintain investigation tracking and resolution metrics to identify systemic risk patterns and drive continuous improvement.

Training & Awareness

  • Drive the Asset Protection education and awareness program to enhance employee knowledge, strengthen a culture of safety, and deliver a secure environment for members.
  • Lead New Club Opening Asset Protection assessments and training for all openings in the assigned market.
  • Develop role-specific Asset Protection training content for Club Managers, Front Desk, Maintenance, and Concierge teams.

Emergency Communication

  • Own the setup, implementation, training, testing, and ongoing management of the Emergency Communication platform (currently Preparis) across all clubs and corporate offices.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with field management to embed Asset Protection best practices and proactive safety programs into day-to-day club operations.
  • Provide direct support to all Club Operations Departments including Equinox Retail Shop and Concierge departments.
  • Partner with corporate office teams to strengthen security, safety, and incident response protocols, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the Asset Protection subject-matter expert during new club design reviews to influence physical security layout decisions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree, or comparable combination of education, work experience, and law enforcement background.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in loss prevention, corporate security, or asset protection.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory or management experience across multi-site locations.
  • Experience conducting internal investigations and integrity interviews.
  • Proficiency in complex investigations and legal compliance related to retail theft and fraud.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable loss prevention strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all organizational levels and with external law enforcement.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and difficult situations with discretion and diplomacy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time, including overnight and short-notice trips.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of and experience operating CCTV/access control systems.
  • Training in investigative interviewing techniques (e.g., Wicklander-Zulawski or Reid Technique).
  • Advanced certifications: ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience with AP technology platforms (Verkada, Open Eye, and comparable systems).
  • Familiarity with fitness, hospitality, and luxury retail environments.
  • Experience with threat assessment frameworks or workplace violence prevention programs.

Pay Transparency: $124,000 - $134,000
