Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver with refrigerated (reefer) unit experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of temperature-controlled freight, ensuring product integrity from pickup to delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliable time management, and a thorough understanding of reefer operations and DOT regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Operate company trucks equipped with refrigerated units to transport temperature-controlled goods.
  • Monitor and maintain proper temperature settings throughout transit.
  • Perform pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections of tractor, trailer, and reefer unit, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all required documentation, including bills of lading, temperature logs, and electronic logging device (ELD) entries.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel.
  • Adhere to all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies.
  • Secure loads and verify product counts and condition at pickup and delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned equipment.
  • Respond to reefer unit alarms or temperature deviations while in transit.

What We Are Looking For

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • No minimum experience required. Training will be provided for the refrigerated (reefer) unit.
  • Strong knowledge of reefer unit operation, including startup, shutdown, temperature adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical checks and minor reefer functions.
  • Understanding of DOT hours-of-service regulations and ELD systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with multi-stop refrigerated deliveries.
  • Knowledge of food safety handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with Thermo King or Carrier reefer systems.
  • Prior experience with customer-facing deliveries.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Regional or OTR routes depending on company needs.
  • Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Extended periods of sitting and driving.
