Job Description
Job Summary: As a Refrigeration Technician II, you'll perform mid-range diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and most repairs and replacements.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Troubleshooting / Maintenance / Repair & Replacement:
  • Performs mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Performs basic to advanced welding
  • Performs most repairs / replacements and preventative maintenance in assigned specific classification
  • Usually works alone on repair orders
  • Provides some training
  • Diagnoses / detects / repairs refrigerant leaks
  • Diagnoses / repairs electrical components, oil leaks, fuel systems, refrigeration systems, a variety of engines, charging systems, exhaust systems, starting systems, and cycle sentry electronics
  • Performs Refrigeration Tech I duties

Qualifications & Key Requirements:
Work Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience as a mechanic - Required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • A high skilled level of welding - Required
  • Computer skills - Required
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams - Required
  • Ability to perform intermediate repairs - Required
  • Work in a team environment - Required
  • Obtain the minimum expected tool set - Required

Education:
  • HS Diploma or GED or equivalent education - Required

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current CDL - Required
  • OEM certification in basic refrigeration, electrical, and welding / soldering - Required
  • Certification in AC refrigerant 608 - Required
  • Certification in AC repair - Required
  • Complete TMT training - Required
  • Meet H-E-B driving qualifications - Required

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • Lift 100 lbs and carry a distance of 5 ft
  • Work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position
  • Work with hands over head
  • Climb; work from a ladder
