Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Spring Leaf Rehabilitation Center, you will be responsible for:

  • Directing all facets of physical therapy treatment aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and maximizing the physical capabilities of clients.
  • Overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure proper implementation of care plans.
  • Conducting in-depth evaluations of patientsโ€™ muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities using various diagnostic tools.
  • Assessing the home environment to provide recommendations that enhance rehabilitation efforts and increase client independence.
  • Administering manual therapeutic exercises and guiding patients through non-manual exercises and functional activities.
  • Providing therapeutic interventions such as traction, massage, and other physical treatments.
  • Evaluating and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices, ensuring adjustments and modifications are communicated with the physician.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to review and update patient care plans collaboratively.
  • Documenting all patient interactions, assessments, and updates accurately in clinical records, ensuring compliance with OASIS standards.
  • Educating clients and their families on physical therapy practices, equipment use, and the patient's overall rehabilitation program.
