Job description

Overview

SCCI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in support of a high-performing DoD acquisition program. The successful candidate will provide software engineering technical support, and mentor junior and mid-level software engineers. In this position your work will have a great impact on the program's overall mission in providing support to the Department of Defense. This position is available for immediate hire and is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Software Engineering technical support
  • Provide mentorship for Junior - Mid level Software Engineers
  • Support software engineering code-design reviews
  • Perform requirements assessments and requirements decomposition
  • Code to model system behavior through functional flows and functional descriptions
  • Develop and brief software engineering presentations and reports

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Must have ten (10) years general experience in software engineering applied to program development, modeling, and/or simulation
    • Specialized Experience
      • Five (5) years of experience with Navy or Joint Systems
      • Demonstrated understanding of technical aspects required to develop large complex software intensive systems
      • Post-delivery support and experience with systems engineering and work management tool
  • Proficient in software development using two (2) of the following programming languages:
    • Windows
    • Various Linux distributions (e.g. Red Hat/Red Hawk) 
    • Ada
    • C/C++
    • Java
