Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Talent Acquisition, the University Recruitment Specialist plays a key role in shaping the future workforce of Parkview Health. This highly visible position is responsible for developing and executing innovative university recruitment strategies that attract top student talent and strengthen Parkview’s presence across academic institutions throughout Indiana, Ohio, and the surrounding region.

The ideal candidate is an energetic relationship-builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys networking, and is passionate about connecting students with meaningful healthcare career opportunities. This role requires travel to events including university events, career fairs, conferences, and professional meetings throughout the state and region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary driver of Parkview Health’s university recruitment efforts, building strong talent pipelines for nursing, allied health, and other critical workforce needs.
  • Represent Parkview Health at on-campus recruitment events, career fairs, conferences, professional association meetings, classroom presentations, and Parkview-sponsored events.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with students, faculty, professors, deans, career services teams, and other university stakeholders.
  • Promote Parkview Health as an employer of choice through engaging presentations, networking events, career days, and social events.
  • Create and execute an annual recruitment event strategy and maintain a comprehensive recruitment calendar outlining monthly activities and outreach efforts.
  • Evaluate recruitment initiatives and leverage data-driven insights to continuously improve outcomes and ensure hiring goals are met.
  • Proactively utilize social media and digital engagement tools to increase brand awareness, promote events, and connect with prospective candidates.
  • Manage and report on key recruitment metrics to measure the effectiveness and return on investment of recruitment activities.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for Parkview’s Student Nurse Program and other workforce development initiatives designed to engage high school and college students pursuing healthcare careers.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition colleagues, hiring leaders, and educational institutions to support long-term workforce planning and talent pipeline development.

Travel Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to travel frequently throughout Indiana, Ohio, and surrounding areas to attend recruitment events, university visits, job fairs, conferences, networking opportunities, and other professional events.
  • Occasional evening and overnight travel may be required based on recruitment needs and event schedules.
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule to support campus and conference activities throughout the year.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Nursing, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required.
Licensure/Certification
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required.
Experience
  • Minimum of five years of recruitment experience with an emphasis in full-cycle recruiting, talent sourcing, or related healthcare experience required.
  • Experience within healthcare recruitment, higher education partnerships, staffing agencies, or organizations where Human Resources is strategically aligned with business objectives is preferred.
Other Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all phases of full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, candidate assessment, interviewing, networking, relationship management, employment law, and compensation trends.
  • Strong understanding of applicant tracking systems, recruitment technologies, CRM tools, and digital sourcing strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, internet-based recruiting tools, and social media platforms.
  • Proven ability to build consultative, trusted relationships with students, faculty, academic leaders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively represent Parkview Health in a variety of professional settings.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative recruitment strategies, adapt to changing workforce needs, and maintain credibility with leaders and candidates at all levels.
  • Passion for talent attraction, workforce development, and creating exceptional candidate experiences.
