Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary:
Recreation Center Supervisors will work under the direction of the Recreation Center Operations Coordinator and Aquatics Coordinator to manage a staff of student Recreation Center Attendants and Lifeguards as they carry out overall day-to-day operations in The Dixon Center and surrounding outdoor recreational facilities. Recreation Center Supervisors will assist in the ongoing supervision, training, and evaluation of Recreation Center Attendants and Lifeguards. Supervisors will also serve as the on-site operations manager during early morning, evening, and weekend shifts, when professional staff members may be off-site.
Requirements:
  • Supervise recreational facilities and enforce recreation center policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for recreational activities.
  • Oversee Recreation Center operations and provide direct supervision, guidance, operational support and training to Recreation Center Attendants and Lifeguards.
  • Stay current on fitness and recreation programs and operational procedures to provide exceptional customer service to Villanova community members.
  • Create a welcoming and positive experience for users.
  • Assist in the ongoing evaluation of student Recreation Center Attendants and Lifeguards.
  • Uphold Recreation Center Attendant and Lifeguard job expectations, ensuring appropriate staffing and operational support throughout the Dixon Center and surrounding recreational facilities.
  • Assist Recreation Center Attendant with their responsibilities when necessary and appropriate.
  • Provide regular feedback and ongoing input to professional staff members for the purpose of refining policies, improving operational procedures, and enhancing services offered.
  • Attend ongoing Recreation Center Supervisor training sessions.
  • Attend and assist in the development and implementation of ongoing student employee training sessions for Recreation Center Attendants and Lifeguards.

Enact or assist in emergency response.

Physical Demands Summary:
  • May be asked to carry/move fitness and recreation equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
  • May be asked to perform duties at outdoor recreational facilities, in various seasons with the possibility of inclement weather.
