Friday - Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm, OT as necessary (10% shift differential on top of base pay)

Job Summary:
Sets up and operates equipment to slit printed sleeve labels to specific widths as per job jacket instructions. Must be able to set up and produce according to standards and pre-determined production times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
  • Must have the ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm.
  • Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
  • Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Secures approvals before running job and then solves problems to ensure quality is excellent. Secures help as needed.
  • Constantly monitors and adjusts slitter and AVT system to unwind all bad material from master rolls and produces consistent size/position rolls to Seaming, etc.
  • Prepares production records, reports, timesheets, data entries, etc.
  • Operates hand truck, and hand tools.
  • Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1mm.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
Frequently lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds overhead, frequently lift and/or lower up to 50 pounds at high or medium height and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
Requires constant movement and bending.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
