Engineering Manager - $89,000 to $93,600/year

POSITION OBJECTIVE/SUMMARY

The Engineering Manager is responsible to maintain and monitor the entire property (40 Acres and 14 buildings) and all equipment to brand standards and to ensure the property appearance is in top condition. Equipment to include all HVAC and refrigeration, electrical distribution, and central physical plant for the overall maintenance, safety, and physical operation of the hotel’s facilities and grounds. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, capital upkeep, life-safety systems, and the day-to-day engineering operations across a 40-acre resort campus consisting of multiple guestroom buildings, meeting and office spaces, a health and wellness center, and banquet facilities. The Engineering Manager ensures the property is maintained to brand standards while supporting guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across:
  • Six (6) guest room buildings
  • Four (4)meetingand office buildings
  • Health and Wellness Center

  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and mechanical systems.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate engineering team members; ensure proper coverage for a large, multi-building campus.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption andtimelyresolution.
  • Maintainall building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, fire alarm, irrigation, and lighting systems.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including life-safety and environmental standards.
  • Oversee pool and spa mechanical systems; pool certification is beneficial.
  • Manage work orders, service requests, and vendor relationships.
  • Assistin planning and execution of capital projects and renovations in collaboration with leadership.
  • Monitor inventory, tools, parts, and supplies to support efficient operations.
  • Work closely with Rooms, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Events,andWellnessteams to support seamless operations.
  • Maintainaccuratemaintenance records, logs, and documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and preventative care across the property.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel or resort engineering/maintenance experience, with supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Experience managing maintenance operations across multiple buildings or a large campus environment strongly preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Good communicationskillsareessential; speaking and understandingof theEnglishlanguageisrequiredto understand project delegation.
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety documentation.

  • Poolandhot tuboperator Certification or similar certificationispreferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; up to and including variable morning and evening shifts,weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and access rooftops and mechanical spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors across a 40-acre resort campus.
  • Duties are performed in a variety of environments including:
  • Indoor public spaces and back-of-house areas,
  • Outdoor areas and rooftops in all seasons, includingcold winterconditions, snow, ice, and inclement weather,
  • Mechanical rooms, utility corridors, and service areas, and
  • Confined and restricted spaces, including hot crawl spaces, attics, and mechanical chases, which may have limited ventilation
  • Exposure tonoise, vibrations, dust, chemicals, cleaning agents, and mechanical equipment.
  • Work may involve uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, rooftops, and elevated work areas.
  • Noise levels may vary depending on work area and active equipment.
  • Must be able to work safely while adhering to all safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
