Location: Rochester, NY & Canandaigua, NY

What does a Teller Manager do at Canandaigua National Bank?

The Teller Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of the Teller unit in a Branch Office. This position ensures that our Branch Offices can meet the financial services needs of its customers. Directly supervises all Tellers in the Branch in order to provide efficient and accurate paying and receiving services. The Teller Manager also maintains and controls vault cash for the Teller unit. Additionally, this role works closely with the Community Office Manager in establishing and delivering specific service standards to achieve exceptional customer service.

What competencies are needed to be successful in this role?

  • College degree or college coursework with an emphasis in a business or accounting curriculum, or equivalent work experience normally required.
  • A minimum of 12 months of banking experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures
  • Able to perform all Teller duties.
  • High proficiency with a PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office)
  • Exceptional customer service/sales experience.

What does a successful first year in this position look like?

  • Ensures all paying and receiving, balancing, and operational activities are done efficiently and according to policy.
  • Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
  • Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
  • Works with Tellers to ensure they meet quarterly requirements of the Retail Referral program.
  • On time completion of all assigned performance reviews
