Job description

As a Commercial Real Estate Analyst, you'll join a close-knit team of industry specialists to originate, analyze, and evaluate prospective commercial mortgage loans and other real estate investments.
Specifically, you will:
  • Analyze and underwrite prospective commercial mortgage loans, joint venture equity investments, and other real estate opportunities across a broad range of property types, risk profiles, and geographies.
  • Use CoStar, Argus and Excel to derive market information, property values, analyze cash flows, and calculate DSCR, Debt Yield and LTV
  • Discuss/present deals to the commercial real estate investment team and investment committee
  • Interface with mortgage brokers related to deal packages received
  • Structure deals to isolate and mitigate risks
  • Write preliminary investment memoranda
  • Negotiate loan terms and mortgage application
  • Perform site and market inspections
  • Aid the transaction manager in closing originated loans
  • Aid the servicing manager with borrower requests related to existing loans
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of commercial real estate experience as a portfolio lender, appraiser, underwriter, debt intermediary, debt or equity analyst or other hands-on relevant experience
  • Solid knowledge of commercial real estate and lending fundamentals
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work as an individual and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail in an efficient and timely manner
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to the team's shared goals for success
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word with working knowledge of both along with the ability to work with AI-driven solutions (including Claude and ChatGPT) to enhance investment analysis and efficiency
  • Argus and CoStar a plus

Work Arrangement:
This full-time, exempt role is based at 9 West 57th Street.
The salary range for this position is $86,100 to $129,150, plus an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation within this range will be based on skills, experience, and internal pay equity.
