Job Title: Radiology Operations Specialist
Department: Administration
Reports To: Director of Administrative Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary of Position:
Provides administrative and project management support for radiology operations across STRG. Serves as liaison between radiologists and administrative leadership to implement quality initiatives, optimize clinical workflows, and support physician productivity without direct patient care responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly understands physician scheduling optimization across multiple radiology subspecialties as it relates to quality, volume, and contrast coverage.
  • Analyzes physician scheduling at all locations, to determine effective staffing levels and provides insights into recruitment needs
  • Identifies work flow inefficiencies and collaborates with physicians to implement solutions
  • Helps design and optimize PACS worklists to improve radiologist efficiency and appropriate distribution of studies
  • Responsible for assigning worklist tranches per leadership direction (i.e. by modality, subspecialty, priority, etc.)
  • Completes data analysis related to scheduling, staffing, procedure volume and turnaround times
  • Works with leadership to improve physician productivity metrics for executive leadership
  • Coordinates implementation of clinical operational initiatives across the practice
  • Prepares materials for clinical meetings, captures action items, and ensures follow-through
  • Maintains confidentiality when handling sensitive physician performance data
  • Facilitates communication between clinical and administrative teams

Experience / Skill Requirements:
  • Experience in administrative and clinical/healthcare setting is highly desirable; understanding of clinical radiology functions required
  • Experience supporting quality initiatives or clinical improvement projects
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics and improvement methodologies
  • Prior experience managing worklist tranches helpful
  • Must be adept at using software for word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and ability to leverage AI assistants for report generation, data interpretation, and administrative tasks
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented, self-directed and be able to work with minimal supervision and highly confidential information.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced collaborative but collegial environment while maintaining duties.
Education:
Three to five years of experience in a physician practice/clinic is preferred, radiology experience helpful.
Attendance / Work Schedule:
Maintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements is an essential function of this position, including working all full-time regular hours as established for this position and scheduled or emergency overtime. Full-time regular hours are defined as Monday through Friday, with after-hours or weekends as required. All employees in this job classification are required to satisfy this requirement. This job classification does not include "light duty" work or allow unpredictable or unrestricted absences.
