Position Overview
CUMULUS MEDIA | Kansas City, KS is offering a great part-time opportunity as a Promotions Assistant, Studio Board Operator, On-Air Talent providing support to the cluster's Promotions and Programming management. Our ideal candidate should possess an extremely good work ethic, be a self-starter, and be highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position requires extreme reliability and flexibility, with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays. If you are a fast learner with a passion for radio, read on. Promotions duties will consist of video capture and editing, still photography, creating a strong presence for our stations on social media, station websites and apps, listener customer service and prize fulfillment, as well community interaction with listeners and clients to promote our stations. Strong detail to execution and a positive mindset are also qualities of our ideal candidate. Programming responsibilities could include running the control board, on-air hosting, audio production and traffic reports.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Strong Social Media skills with platforms like Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram
โ€ข Basic video capturing and video editing skills
โ€ข Facilitate prize fulfillment with station contest winners, including contacting listeners via email and phone daily for prize fulfillment
โ€ข Reliability with an extremely flexible schedule, available to workdays, nights, weekends and holidays
โ€ข Update our six radio station websites and apps, WordPress skills highly desirable
โ€ข Clean driving record and the ability to drive our station vans and vehicles
โ€ข Hosting, announcing or mixing during an on-air shift
โ€ข Collecting and reporting short-duration traffic reports
โ€ข Ideally able to lift up to 50 pounds
โ€ข Run the control board in a radio station studio broadcasting a variety of live shows and sports events and pre-recorded local and syndicated radio programs
โ€ข Play all commercials as scheduled
โ€ข Monitor and rebroadcast required EAS alerts, weather warnings, Amber alerts and breaking news
โ€ข Maintain technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from station studios
Qualifications:
โ€ข Proficient using computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite
โ€ข Proficient using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Express, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred, but not required
โ€ข Proficient using WordPress preferred, but not required
โ€ข Proficient using computer systems such as Op-X, AudioVault, Wide Orbit, ENCO, Reaper, Sound Forge, Nuendo, Adobe Audition or other automation programs and audio editing programs preferred, but not required
โ€ข Familiar with audio mixers and remote monitoring systems for radio transmissions
โ€ข Flexibility in scheduling required; many of the hours may be in the evenings, weekends and holidays
โ€ข Previous on-air, mix DJ and/or board operation experience preferred, but not required
โ€ข Creative audio production skills preferred, but not required
Pay Range
USD $13.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
