As a Field Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing of day-to-day operations in the Field Service Department in your assigned area. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a technician team that consists of technicians and installers with varying level of competencies. This position requires extensive interaction with multiple customer organizations, product vendors and manufactures, and with senior management of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and service assignments as needed.
  • Act as direct liaison between BearCom technicians and Motorola or end customer.
  • Work with customers to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for completing installation and repair tasks.
  • Assist with organizing and scheduling upcoming field work.
  • Provides technical support in field operations.
  • Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Install, maintain and provide technical support and service of wireless communications equipment such as: UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems.
  • Operate mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems, using both conventional and trunked radio technologies.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.
  • Provide hands-on and oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation such as base stations, repeaters, mobile devices, portable devices, wireless broadband devices, and cctv equipment. Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results in order to repair and program radios and wireless equipment.
  • Deliver and execute customer Functional Acceptance Test Plans (FATP), perform and document results of site surveys and assessments per defined customer requirements in pre-sales delivery and post installation.
  • Make minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer requests and/or deploy factory software/firmware updates.
  • Handles training and coaching of field service technicians and installers.
  • Some travel and on call maybe required.
  • Help with other projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in technical managementin the wireless industry, or similar experience.
  • Experience in developing, qualifying, and directing new business opportunities through customer interface and requirements gathering process.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with a network of vendor resources.
  • Experience managing complex project implementations.
  • Must posses understanding of business practices P&L responsibility.
  • Must have excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Extensive knowledge/understanding of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands and communications systems.
  • Technical leadership experience associated with wireless solutions.
  • Technical leadership experience associated with multiple 2-way radiotechnologies.
  • Appropriate degree from an accredited college or equivalentexperience; combination ofeducation with professional experience and specializedtraining is also acceptable.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Security Clearance is a plus
  • Must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Background checks are part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle check.
