JOB SUMMARY

TekniPlex is hiring a Quality Tech 3rd Shift for our Madison, WI facility. The Quality Tech is responsible for the inspection, assessment, verification, testing, and documentation of process and product quality on all goods, incoming goods, and in-process used in the manufacture of our product and finished goods to the customer and acceptability thereof. Included in these duties are instrument car, calibration, and documentation. The pay range for this position is between $21.00 - $24.00 an hour. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Preform inspections and qualify control tests to ensure quality standards and adherence to specifications 
  • Appropriately understand and follow the plant’s OHSE and quality systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product 
  • Preform inspections and quality control tests to ensure quality standards and adherence to specifications 
  • Inspect and test incoming raw materials 
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with customer’s specifications 
  • Maintain appropriate records of tests, inspection results, and observations 
  • Notify production personnel of deviations in product quality. Mark deviant products appropriately 
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of all presses when machine is down 
  • Help site meet quality objectives  
  • Frequently use and navigate several software systems (Quality Data Results, Inventory, Documentation, Audits, Training, etc.) 
  • Other duties as assigned 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Some continued education preferred (i.e. Chemistry background) 
  • 1-3 years quality control experience preferred 
  • Computer Skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to use gauges and calipers

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
