Job description

Ranger Die is seeking a Quality Manager with a solid background in quality management systems - preferably ISO and IATF - as well as a proven record of capable leadership. This role manages a small department while working closely with the teams in both production metal stamping and die building to ensure excellent product quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all internal systems and procedures are updated to meet requirements of QMS.
  • Train and assist other departments in understanding QMS requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact for customer complaints as they relate to quality.
  • Respond to customer complaints, use containment as necessary, facilitate root cause analysis process and assist in development of short- and long-term corrective actions.
  • Manage the quality team, including employee training and development; employment decisions; conflict resolution; etc.
  • Oversee inspection of finished parts daily to ensure all parts shipped to customers meet specifications, document problems with shipped parts.
  • Shut down processes that require attention due to quality concerns.
  • Inspect raw materials and reject raw materials that are of poor quality or are out of specification; initiate and follow up on corrective action plans for vendors.
  • Complete PPAPs, capability studies, layouts, and other customer requirements.
  • Direct the quarantine / sort area. Ensure timely cost-conscious decisions using data.
  • Perform internal audits to improve processes and maintain ISO and IATF certification.
  • Manage and lead the APQP process for all new projects.
  • Communicate major quality problems to management in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education - B.S. in relevant field (manufacturing, engineering, etc.) or commensurate experience
Experience - 5+ years in a quality management or similar role; Experience in customer service, stamping, and implementing a QMS or overseeing the transition preferred.
License(s)/Registration(s)/Certification(s) - Six Sigma, IATF Lead Auditor
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - Working knowledge of core tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, etc). Ability to read and understand blueprints. Strong understanding of QMS including ISO and IATF. Strong communications skills. Strong management skills. Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
