A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A QUALITY MANAGER

As a Quality Manager, you are responsible for leading the organization's quality assurance system and ensuring all products and processes meet internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations. You will oversee internal audit programs, quality documentation systems, and performance metrics to ensure accurate reporting and continuous improvement. Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills are essential as you work across departments to drive problem-solving efforts, manage corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely and effective closure of quality issues. You will provide direction and oversight for calibration systems and equipment validation to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability. In addition, you will lead the non-conformance process by ensuring thorough investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective actions within the quality management system. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS FOR A QUALITY MANAGER

  • Knowledge and ability to follow ISO 9001 Standards
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to effectively coach and supervise others
  • Leadership ability and professional image including strong work ethic, self-confidence, trustworthiness, and the ability to coordinate responsibilities
  • Use of independent judgment, discretion, logic, and reasoning in daily decision making and problem solving


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, manufacturing or related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in quality assurance with a strong understanding of mechanical assembly, fabrication, machining, and electrical systems
  • Experience with a quality management system for document control, non-conformance, CPA record keeping (Unipoint preferred)
