Job description

Overview:
The Quality Lab Manager will implement the operating strategy to achieve a flawless day in the laboratory, reviewing both in process and end of process quality. The Quality Lab Manager will be responsible for leading the stewardship, quality, reliability, and engagement of the team by developing and maintaining daily work processes, acting as a role model for the team, ensuring that the daily operation is coordinated in a manner to support stewardship, quality, reliability, and engagement. This person will also ensure that appropriate resources are available for daily execution of the operating strategy.
This position will be located in Enoree, South Carolina.
Responsibilities:
  • Managing laboratory and technicians.
  • Interfacing with laboratories at other locations and other Quality Managers to capture best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining training program for the laboratory.
  • Investigating and responding to customer quality notifications.
  • Monitoring and reporting on polymer quality data.
  • Ensuring finished goods meet customer requirements.
  • Conducting laboratory safety toolbox meetings.
  • Continuous improvement of the quality management system.
  • Prepare and manage quality audits.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline; experience with Quality Systems preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing/laboratory/warehouse leadership/management experience.
  • Knowledge of analytical equipment and methods.
  • Ability to motivate others to achieve core manufacturing principles, drive and engage team, understand and drive unit needs and objectives.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and ability - lab equipment, lab methods, quality systems.
  • Solid decision-making ability.
  • Root cause analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and identify trends using statistical process control, including daily monitoring to ensure product quality remains within control limits.
  • Ability to prioritize.
