The Role:
Our site in Hillsboro is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician IV to join our team. The Quality Lab Technician IV requires the ability to lead, train, and mentor others, as well as manage projects effectively; while being responsible for supporting testing of incoming raw materials, in process samples, and finished products using advanced metrology tools while also supporting continuous improvement activities.

What You'll Do:
  • Laboratory testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using a variety of advanced metrology tools.
  • Follow work instructions for laboratory test methods, identify and implement method improvements, and assist in updating work instructions and procedures.
  • Record all data and results in specified data management systems accurately to ensure traceability and data defensibility.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and orderly environment (6S guidelines) . Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
  • Maintain laboratory instruments, conduct long term stability measurements, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Leads & participates in Gage R&R studies for measurement system analysis.
  • Resolve testing or data issues by examining and evaluating large datasets to identify corrective actions.
  • Strive for operational excellence, collaboration, and positive team morale.
  • Actively collaborate with manufacturing, quality inspection, and manufacturing engineering staff to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.
  • Lead, train, and mentor Quality Technicians in laboratory procedures and quality standards.
  • Take on improvement projects and perform non-routine analyses to enhance quality processes.

What We Seek:
  • A minimum of a High School GED or equivalent with 6+ years previous experience as a quality inspector or quality technician in a manufacturing/cleanroom environment or equivalent education/experience.
  • Associate degree in a relevant field of study with 4+ years previous experience in an industrial laboratory is preferred.
  • General knowledge of quality systems and laboratory best practices.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, be self-motivated and disciplined, and adaptable to change (shifting priorities).
  • An individual with a quality mindset, strong customer focus, good written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently while balancing competing priorities.
  • Must be able to work well both independently and within a team.
  • Promotes, follows, and holds others accountable to safety policies, procedures, and programs. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Lifting requirement of up to 40 lbs. Wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology) with previous experience working in a quality laboratory or other scientific laboratory is highly preferred.
  • Previous hands-on experience working with and maintaining metrology equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, corrosives, and toxic compounds)
  • A desire to expand upon technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, special projects, and reading technical publications.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including proficiency in Excel
