Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Quality Engineer for a long-term day shift opportunity with a plastics manufacturer in Tigard, OR. The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring day-to-day quality aspects of manufacturing floor activities, training personnel on quality metrics and methods, and being the quality liaison to customers and suppliers.
PAY: $31.25-$36.54/hr
Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS).
โ€ข Assist Quality Manager in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
โ€ข Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
โ€ข Assist Quality Manager to develop training to build quality awareness.
โ€ข Work with Engineering and Program Management to ensure that new products are transferred to Production in accordance with approved data.
โ€ข Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
โ€ข Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports, and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
โ€ข Analyze failures and provide corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
โ€ข Assist Quality Manager in creation and maintenance of company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
โ€ข Assist Quality Manager for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving/outgoing quality functions.
โ€ข Preparation of QA monthly reports.
โ€ข Reverse Engineering - Assist in verification of customer supplied product vs. drawings.
โ€ข Other duties as requested.
Quality Engineer Qualifications:
โ€ข Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical or Quality Engineering degree desirable but not required
โ€ข Minimum 5 years experience performing quality control functions
โ€ข Minimum 3 years' experience in an ISO registered manufacturing environment
โ€ข 2 years minimum manufacturing engineering experience
โ€ข Proficient math skills
โ€ข Knowledge of inspection instruments including CMM
โ€ข Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
โ€ข Ability to follow instructions and specifications
โ€ข Standard computer skills
โ€ข Plastics experience preferred
โ€ข Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs.
