Quality Engineer

Full Time Professional Hood River, OR, US

Purpose of Position: The Quality Engineer ensures that the products or services produced by Trillium Engineering meet applicable customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. Responsibilities include designing, monitoring, and improving quality processes from design through product realization and final delivery to customers.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement quality plans for products and parts.
  • Work closely with production to identify quality issues and implement actions to correct and/or prevent defects.
  • Perform inspections and audits to ensure that products and services meet applicable customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on quality plans and processes.
  • Investigate customer complaints and work with internal teams and suppliers as necessary to implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Lead investigations into quality issues and deviations, utilizing root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in developing and implementing new products to ensure that quality plans are developed and implemented at appropriate stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure that supplier products and services meet all applicable requirements.
  • Maintain records of quality assurance and control activities and provide reports to management as requested.
  • Support the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Trillium Engineering Management System.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 3 years of quality engineering and/or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Travel locations as needed, not intended to exceed 10% on average.
  • CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) from an accredited certification program, preferred.
  • Experience with quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methods.
  • Experience in attaining and maintaining ISO9001 and/or AS9100 quality certifications.

Physical Demands of Position:

  • Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)
  • Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
