Responsibilities
  • Reviews prime contract and subcontract details for specifications and requirements.
  • Conducts quality activities aligned with project scope as per the contract terms and conditions.
  • Reviews the project specifications and identifies quality requirements.
  • Performs visual examination, witnesses, monitors, and documents as per project quality and Inspection testing plans (ITPs).
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Produces and/or collects quality turnover documentation.
  • Acts as a liaison with craft/staff personnel to provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Verifies trade contractor compliance to their quality program and contract documents.
  • Plans and coordinates daily Quality Assurance/Quality Coordinator (QA/QC) activities with construction activities.
  • Assists in the planning and documentation of mock-ups.
  • Works with field management to ensure the protection of finished work.
  • Stays current with industry practices and technologies and seeks new and innovative construction methods and processes.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Tradesperson or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in quality control in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), NCRs, and quality documentation requirements.
  • Experience with field inspections, testing, and verification activities.
  • General knowledge of the construction industry; understands specifications, methods, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of concrete and asphalt materials, including testing procedures and acceptance criteria.
  • Knowledge of codes related to the construction industry.
  • Demonstrates planning, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
