North Central Co-op invites applications for the position of Finance and Administration Clerk to join our Administrative team in Stony Plain, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Member Services and the Finance Department with a commitment to exceptional customer service to our members and employees while adhering to sound accounting policies, practices and internal control systems. Occasional overtime will be required.

This position will report to the Administration and Member Services Manager and will be responsible for the following:

  • Reconcile/audit daily sales transactions and sales reports to ensure accuracy and appropriate coding, with a commitment to sound accounting policies, practices, and internal control systems.
  • Maintain and update various excel reports.
  • Review daily petroleum reports to ensure it is in accordance with Company policy and guidelines.
  • Provide outstanding internal and external customer service.
  • Assist with special projects related to continuous improvement and process improvements to the organization for further efficiency growth.
  • Assist with other finance tasks and duties as needed or required such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Member Services.

Requirements:

  • Have a High School Diploma and one introductory post-secondary accounting course.  Individuals with a High School Diploma and 1 year of relevant accounting experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and strong communication skills required (verbal and written)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, with experience using Pivot Tables and vlookups.
  • Experience with JD Edwards would be considered a strong asset
  • Adeptness in data entry
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
